I had one Hitachi 80GB Hard Drive in. The I got another one today. Put it in via cable select. Main (Master) drive on the end of the cable, and the storage (slave) drive on the middle connector on the cable. Set the jumpers correctly.
Started up my system, and disk utility shows both drives as 31GB's!!!!
BUT..when I go to the drives on the desktop, and hit Command I, the Main drive shows 80GB, while the Command I function shows 31GB on the other drive.
What am I doing wrong???..this is weird
System is:
PowerMac G4 Quicksilver 2002 @ 933MHz
1.5GB SDRAM
GeForce4 Ti 128MB
Hitachi Deskstar 80GB x2
Superdrive
17" Studio LCD
Bluetooth
OS X 10.3.7
Any help would be greatfull!!!
Thank you!!
Brett

Always search the forums.
Jumper your drives properly.

Your right, I should've done that first.
So basicaly it's the Cable Select thing. So, I should go with Master/Slave configuration. Is that what your saying?
