It's Offically staying that way. I can't believe it's been that long since I started this thread. (Time flies when you get old I guess...)

I'll play (my first capture for you kids). Nothing I'm too proud of, I'm just learning what I like. Having fun with it, though.
Using Milk (I know, I know), SmoothIcons for the most part, and wallpaper picture courtesy of The Pipettes (check out their tunes if you haven't before).

I found old screenshots of the FIRST variation (Note not finished nor polished) version of sosumi

http://screenshots.haque.net/screens...enshot-379.jpg

http://screenshots.haque.net/screens...enshot-364.jpg

http://screenshots.haque.net/screens...enshot-344.jpg

And the darker grey Simple Aqua theme.

http://screenshots.haque.net/screens...enshot-677.jpg

I remember making those folders too... wonder what happened to em..

I was making these themes I believe in the pre-public beta days (Those that were in here at the time remember)

I am glad Apple it taking the direction of a darker, less Aqua'd theme. As a matter of fact, I doubt you see much Aqua in 10.5 at all when the final releases.

I was working on Simple Aqua (Me trying to fix Aqua) since before the Public Beta days. I wanted something WITHOUT the stripes, darker, less drop shadow effect. Basically what Apple has it's new GUI Unified, which replaces Aqua looking like (They finally got it right.. at least lets hope the rest of Aqua leaves the Unified look)

Sosumi started being made during the Public Beta days. I missed Platinum so....

All of those themes were made without the modern applications we have today. So it took MONTHS to do.

I still run a theme close to Simple Aqua to this day. I don't give it out though.

ODE to MES (DXB)
Unless I misunderstood the post from 200709, it would seem padmacolors has finally pulled out of the update market. So long to one of the best.

that's awesome. i like the icon for the HD in upper right. I'm totally new to mac and clueless with the whole icon mod thing. How did you set your desktop icons to those specific things?

BTW Guys we are discussing Leopard's GUI. The Bad and the Good in this thread

http://forums.macnn.com/90/mac-os-x/...sion-thread/2/

Feel free to add your input. I gave many examples of themes in here that look better than what Apple has to offer.

Yeah this is sorta "spam" but I'd appreciate those that actually have an interest in GUI design and those that know a bit about it to pipe in.
That and I started this thread so I am allowed to spam in it.

1. Find an icon you like; select it [click once on it]
2. gotoMenubar File > Get Info OR [+i]
3. select the icon in the top left of the window that opens
4. gotoMenubar Edit > Copy OR [+c]
5. Select a folder you want to MOD; select it [click once on it]
6. gotoMenubar File > Get Info OR [+i] and select the icon in the top left of the window that opens
7. gotoMenubar Edit > Paste OR [+v]
voila! BTW ObeyAndre

I am curious, do you have leopard or are you using another program to make your finder look like the leopard finder?

Thanks

BTW not to disappoint anyone, But Unsanity's products *ShapeShifter* and the like probably wont be working in Leopard. At least anytime soon.

But put them Leopard desktops up anyhow. I plan on modding mine today anyway.
