I recently signed up for Soundcloud (after hosting my own tracks on Dropbox/Tumblr), and I have to say it is really slick. You can upload full quality tracks in AIFF or lossless, and Soundcloud automatically transcodes it for listening. You can share your tracks privately or publicly. The player is nice too, showing a preview of the waveform as you go.

Plus you get lots of stats on how many people are listening, comments etc.

It really reminds me a lot of Flickr. I might even buy a pro account.

Anyone else using this service?

Looks pretty neat, I don't like that it cuts off your description, though. I couldn't see an easy way to view the full thing.

Clicking the title of the track takes you to the track-page, but I agree, there should be a "More…" link that expands the full description.

I signed up for an account back in October of 2008. Found out about it through Ableton. I played around with the site for about an hour and haven't been back since. It's somewhat cool, but it really doesn't fulfill any of my needs. I honestly don't think the site is really going to prosper, as all the musicians that I know and hang out with don't have a need for the services that the site offers, but everyone is different, right?
