The subheading for the MacNN Lounge reads, "All your base are belong to MacNN. "
Can someone please explain what the heck this means?

Refer to the thread entitled "All your base belong to us". Please watch your step as you exit the thread. Have a nice day.

I'm going to pull your head off because I don't like your head.

They are not this year. It says copyright 1999-2000 and we are in 2001. So we are free this year until they correct it.

I do so love when English is translated to another language and then translated back.
I have heard that if you translate Coca Cola into Chinese, and then translate back literally, you get "bite the wax tadpole". I have not yet submitted this to any of my Chinese speaking friends, but will do so over a pint.

I was at the Ben&Jerry's plant. They said that in Japan they had to change the name of the ice creams.

You see when you translate "Chunky Monkey" to Japanese it reads as "Chucks of Monkey" ice cream.

They use the English name now because it's kewl.

i thought of getting a job in japan as an english proofreader. basically people would pay me to proofread the english copy on products they were going to release. im sure we've all read things little chopping devices and whatnot in japanese grocery stores that say stuff like "makes happy chopping fun time go!" as great as that is, i think people would pay to have it actually make sense in english.
