ROME - Veteran journalist and writer Oriana Fallaci, a former war correspondent best known for her abrasive interviews and provocative stances, has died, Italian news reports said Friday. She was 76.

Fallaci, who had been diagnosed with cancer years ago, died in a Florence hospital, the Italian agencies ANSA and Apcom said. The reports said that she had been hospitalized for days.

Not many people will know who she was; but she was an excellent reporter and a very good author. She will be missed.

It is the world's loss.

She proudly stood face to face to disgusting terrorists like Arafat and Khomeini, and never hesitated to report on their evils.

She refused to be silenced by people who couldn't refute her words and so instead used the courts to fight her and failed.

She once likened Muslims to rats. Not a very reasoned or compassionate analysis. Therefore she deserves none in return.

Yeah, lets just celebrate the death of anyone who says something we don't like. That's an enlightened position

li'l baby kitten

Good riddance.
What a nice person you are - not.

Actually, though I usually disagreed with you on some matters (political) I respected you and your answers.

Now I no longer do.

You are happy that someone is dead - while you have in the past gone on and on about people being tolerant and moderate.

So is the "good riddance" comment.

In fact, suggesting that someone wear a burqa is nowhere as near as bad as saying, "I'm glad someone is dead," which is what she did.

I don't think there is anything more stupid than animals dressed up like people. Excepting perhaps people who think it's funny

P.S., You aren't taking LBK's new signature seriously, are you? (I think it's temporary.)

Hope not!

That sig is very old, I remember it and she's not using it as far as I can see. However it did remind me how some people think dressing up animals like people is cute or funny.

People like the Hilton-whore yeah and other self-centered people.

I think calling her a whore is rather judgemental. Unless she's an actuall whore of course.
She's no more a whore then Steve Jobs is a whore. Hilton is simply selling a product. She wouldn't be selling if no one was interested.

I'm not interested in her product but i don't feel the need to judge her unless she actually does something illegal or amoral.

Well, I mean whore in the sense that she lives a corrupt life and corrupt values. Not that she's a street-walker

Although, who knows. The rich sometimes go 'slumming' for kicks. Aaanyway, dressing up animals as humans... that's something I don't get. How detatched from nature can people get?

She's not my type, but then I don't buy into that whole "celebrity" thing anyway. Why the hating?
