With the news that there will be no Mac sync software for the upcoming Palm OS 6 devices, should we programmers get together and make our own sync software?

Personally, I would like to see a small and extensible program that works with plug-ins to sync 3rd party programs with the Palm. For me, Omnigraffle for the to-do list, iCal for the calendar, Address Book for the address book, and not sure for the memopad.

I see that there is a program called pilot-link that supposedly allows palm sync with any POSIX compliant OS, but they're not even up to supporting the T3 yet.

More and more it seems that hardware manufacturers aren't supporting Macs (Palm, Polar Heart Rate monitors, Suunto watches, etc)

Any thoughts?
