Hey guys, looks like those new iMac models released today are pretty nice. As an owner of a rev. A iMac G5 (bought it in January), I'm kicking myself a little bit wondering if I should've held off a bit longer...would've gotten built-in wireless, better graphics, faster processor, bigger hard drive, DL Superdrive...doh!

My concern is in the graphics area. With Quartz 2D Extreme (Q2DX) not officially enabled yet, it makes me wonder if my FX5200, once Q2DX is officially enabled, is going to be up to par to truly take advantage of this awesome feature. The step up to an ATI9600 128MB chip is quite a large one, and I'd hate to be left out in the cold just because I jumped on the rev. A bandwagon. The reason for my concern is after having enabled Q2DX on my system with Quartz Debug, I don't see much difference (in fact, the UI tests in Xbench actually are slower with Q2DX enabled). And I wonder if the reason Q2DX is not activated in Tiger yet is that some of the currently "supported" systems are simply not graphically powerful enough to benefit from it.

Thoughts, ladies and gentlemen?
