First of all, thank you to all those that helped me in this thread:
http://forums.macnn.com/showthread.p...hreadid=197554

I was trying to decide if I should purchase a 15" Ti PB or a 15" Al. As you can see I headed off to my retailer to pickup the Ti unit.

When I got there the Ti PB was an open-box which wasn't an issue, I opened it and the PB looked new but when I started looking around for the power adapter to try it out it was missing. So, a frantic search of the store for almost an hour involving several sales managers yielded no AC adapter, and they didn't have an extra on the shelf and wasn't going to give me one off the display models.

shocked at the price and snapped it up immediately.

If I was going to travel much with it I would have thought twice but this is just going back and forth to work. already faxed over my upgrade forms for iLife and Panther ($42 total). Now I need the RAM upgrade and a good sleeve (I have a backpack) and I am SET!

Any recommendations on a sleeve or any other 'must haves' for my new baby?

Thanks all.

i'm jealous.
very very *very* nice deal on the powerbook.

i just got a backpack from booqbags.com and i got the system which came with a sleeve, and i have to admit, i am so very impressed with the sleeve.

i just looked now and they have a sleeve for the 17" powerbook.

enjoy!

Good stuff! Hope you like the machine.

You shouldn't need the screen protectors with the 17", though. I've not heard of any of the Al PBs needing them. My 17" was definitely ok without.

I second the Tom Binh (I used in on my 15" and now on my 17"). And yes, congrats on the deal you were presented with. It does make it that much sweeeter when you get a bit off. I would slap more ram into that puppy and yes, get a great case too and maybe Applecare too boot. But mostly, enjoy it!

Establishment was Microcenter FYI.

Thanks all for the suggestions on the case, I decided to go the brenthaven route because my backpack isn't big enough to carry the PB sleeved.
