Hi! I'm trying to set up multiusers accounts on a G4 with OS9.0.2 and an EPSON USB scanner.

The problem is that I can only access the scanner when I log in using the Owner/Administrator account. I need to be able to scan in the Guest account as well.

Please advise. Thanks.

Have you set the scanning application as an accessible part of the guest account?
I'm not sure here, so bear with me, but if the gues account behaves the same as any other user account (and I don't see why it wouldn't) then you can go to the setup details and set certain apps that user can access.
Make sure you set the scanning app as an accessible part of the guest account.
I'm guessing here as I'm on a comp with OS 8.6 at the moment and so can't check, but it may also be something like the preferences/extensions etc. aren't accessible form the guest account.
Try the above if yo uhaven't already.
What exactly is the problem, what can you do? can you open the app?

Try scanning while you're in an image program such as Photoshop.

Yes. I've allowed access to Photoshop for the guest account. I can open Photoshop, and when I do an import->twain select, i can't see the scanner there, so I can't scan. However, in the Owner/Administrator account, I'm able to see the scanner and thus scan.

I think I've also allowed access to the required extension & preferences. What are the required extensions and preferences by the way, just to double check.

Thanks again.
