In airplanes and some helicopters (especially in the military) there's a female voice that'll say stuff like "warning" and "collision" and "sink rate." Is there a lady that does the voice for all of those like Majel Barrett? Or do different contractors just get some lady to do it. They all sound the same.

a soft female voice makes you feel less tense when it comes to critical situation. at least that's what i heard. and no i don't think those voices sound the same, but they speak in similar tone.

I wish you could make them say things slower and sexier. That'd rock.

It's not Majel-she's pretty busy doing Roddenberry-related things. But as Sealobo says, a soft feminine voice helps keep you from tensing up, and female voices cut through background noise much better than male voices.

We all know she is Bitchin' Betty. I will ask her to make the greeting message for my answering machine.

They not only need a female voice, but a female holographic, too.

My jet time was rather brief but I do recall hearing more than one voice...

But they could have been the voices in my head.

I've only ever had a male voice on the Litton ILS system.
