The car is in Qatar, not Dubai. It's like saying you hate Hawaii because there's an XJ220 rotting in Nevada.

That Jag ain't rotting - it's dirty. That's what happens when you live in a desert.
At least it ain't had VW wheels strapped to it.

Grill is damaged, 1/4 panel is damaged, scratches everywhere, etc. Guy who used to work on THAT CAR is the one who took the pictures.

You need to read some history. And take a look at some numbers.

That's a shame. The shop that does the work on our cars specializes in Jags and Porsches. They've had an XK220 sitting in pieces in their shop for over a year now. The rear end needs completely overhauled, but you can't easily get pieces for them. I bet they'd love to get their hands on this one just for the parts.

Ever been to college or used numbers?
It's probably in fine condition after a short restoration project. The desert is kind to preserving mechanicals.

Spot on, gents. But you left out the part of Rob's character that defines a person's identity by the vehicle they drive.

There are a ton of abandoned cars in Dubai. The reason: Debtor's Prison.
When the economy went down the drain, tons of Westerners lost their jobs and found themselves unable to meet their car payments. Rather than going to jail, many of them booked the next flight out of the country, never to return, leaving behind what they could not carry.
I had an offer to interview for a Dubai gig some years ago. I am so glad I passed.

Wow. It's been a long time that I've heard something so blindly racist and ignorant actually spoken out loud without a hint of sarcasm.
A rule of thumb I've always lived by: You never know who's listening when you say something in public, so make sure you're educated on your subject and really mean what you say because you could end up putting yourself in a very awkward, damaging, or, worse yet, dangerous situation.
Just for kicks:

I do, though, get a bit of entertainment out of watching someone make such a complete ass of themselves like this. Carry on.

So I'm guessing you weren't around when our very own Robert was questioned by the Secret Service for a post he made here about a Presidential candidate?

Not sure. I've read plenty of anecdotal comments on Rob's past behaviour but probably haven't been paying close enough attention to see it first hand until now.

Huh. I never knew any of that. I was under the impression that the middle east was just a gigantic sandpit filled with intolerant people that enjoy killing each other because their parents killed each other because their parents killed each other (etc). Learn something new everyday. I still don't like them, but I guess they did have some scientists, and contributed, but until today I've never known about it.

"Algebra" is Arabic. Neither math nor medicine nor physics or most of science would exist in its modern form if not for the bright minds from what is now Iraq.

Yakavetta: I'm having a shitty day. I'm depressed. Tell me a funny joke.
Rocco: Now? A joke? Uh... um, uh... A joke. Yeah, alright. Um... There's these, uh, three guys, uh... a-a-a-a spic, a-a-a-a white guy and a black guy.
Yakavetta: "Nigg3r".
Rocco: Yeah, n-n- Yeah. And-and they walk along the beach, they see this pot, they rub it, genie comes out. Genie says, you know, "You wish for anything you want." So, he asks, uh-uh, Mexican what-what he wants, and he goes, uh, uh, "I want, uh, all my people in America to be happy and free and in Mexico." And so, genie - Poof! And, all the spics are in Mexico. And then he asks the black guy...
Vincenzo Lipazzi: "Nigg3r".
Rocco: Yeah, that's what I said. Goes to the, uh- uh, Nigg3r, says, uh, "What do you want?" And he goes, um, uh, "I want all my African- my Nigg3r brothers in America to be back in Africa and-and happy and everything." You know? So, genie goes poof! And, um, all the niggers in America are in Africa. And, uh, uh, uh, this is go- I'm not funny today. I-I know. I'm havin' a hard day. I-I-I- This joke sucks. It's-it's-it's a stupid joke.
Yakavetta: Continue the joke.
Rocco: So the genie says to the white guy, uh, um, "What's your one wish?" And the white guy goes, "You mean to tell me all the niggers and spics are out of America?" Genie goes, "Yeah." He says, "Well, um, I'll have a Coke, then."

I'm not buying that at all.
Next up there'll be someone along telling us that rock music has roots in the early African-American scene.

We Europeans can be credited with all forms of popular music (olde worlde folke songse beinge thee roote). Except rap. Thanks but no thanks on that.

Wait - you're really saying that rock music doesn't have its roots in the early African-American scene? Seriously? (I can't tell if you're joking)
