I'm using it right now on my iPad, and I like it a lot. There are occasional stumbles in my usage, as I figure out where everything is, but it's pretty nifty. I haven't put it on my phone yet, but I plan to.
Just thought I'd mention it... Anyone with stellar or awful experience with this browser?

I would rather love to see firefox run on iOS but seems like Firefox and Apple are having a tussle amongst themselves

Firefox has some page rendering issues that I've run into. I don't understand why, but I've filed bug reports with Mozilla about the sites I've seen this on. Chrome, on the other hand, has handled those sites fine, better than Safari (on OS X and iOS).
Now I just need a simple way to get all my iOS Safari bookmarks imported to iOS Chrome. It's annoying to have to look up a site on Safari just so I can use the URL in Chrome.

What happens when you sign in to Chrome?
I'm not that much in the Googleverse, but is be shocked if there wasn't a way to attach bookmarks to your account.

That's the "suggested" method. The problem is that those Google bookmarks would be from a desktop version of Chrome, not the iOS Safari that has the bookmarks I want to import to iOS Chrome. And it seems that there is no established way to export iOS Safari bookmarks at all, let alone a way to move them to Chrome.
Unless I'm missing something pretty basic, I still think I'm going to have to make new bookmarks in Chrome, one site at a time.

Sync mobile and desktop Safari using iCloud, then import from desktop Safari to desktop Chrome and sync that?

What he said.
You can definitely sync your iOS Safari bookmarks with your desktop Safari, and then should be able to copy your desktop Safari bookmarks to desktop Chrome.

That sounds way too logical! I'll give it a try when I get a few spare minutes.
