I recently upgraded to Mountain Lion, and I'm still getting used to it. But I have a frustrating issue and maybe if I knew what to call what is happening, I would at least feel less frustrated.

Every now and then, while I'm lingering on the (Magic) mouse, I will get a transparent window with icons for all the active apps in it, and clicking on these icons switches to that app. It's not Mission Control, obviously, but what the heck is it?

The app switcher? Is it the same thing as when you cmd-tab?

That's it. I guess I wasn't expecting it to show up just because my fingers did something random on the mouse. It might be related to Better Touch Tool, because I added that so I could get the gestures I was used to in my previous version.

After disabling BTT, I have not had the app switcher show up out of the blue again. I can't find a setting in BTT that makes that happen so I could turn it off, but with it disabled, I haven't had any real issues with navigation either. I'll probably just leave it off for now and see how it goes.

It used to be triple-finger sideways swipe on the trackpad, so whatever control in BTT enables a triple-swipe trackpad command on the Magic Mouse will probably allow for this function.

I thought it was a four finger swipe in Lion but removed in Mountain Lion (the triggering gesture, not the feature)
I have plenty of more important things to do, if only I could bring myself to do them....
