i just bought a G4 400mhz powermac that i want to use for beginners A/V work in OSX.
before i get going i wanna make sure i have the most optimal setup that will both allow me to work productively now and as i try to do more complex projects in the future. i plan to do some audio and midi work and hopefully some imovie/FCE in the near future.

so what are your recomendations on proper hard drive setups for the system, files, and recording ?
i currently have one 60 GB drive but know one day soon i will probably want to add more storage
i also have a 9GB scsi drive from the powermac 8500 that is being replaced. Is that scsi drive worth anything or should i just sell it to buy a larger IDE drive?
also i have some serial midi adapters- will these work in OSX or am i better off just replacing them w/ usb devices(money i dont really wanna spend)

and on the software side:
what are recomendations for audio/midi software?
i've used Logic 4 but the interface is so ugly- is logic audio 6 any better?
also i've demoed metro and was somewhat pleased w/ that

thanks for the help-
