She'll be missed.

It's implied that it wasn't covid.
The cause of death is unknown to the public, however in his post Straczynski wrote that the cast and crew of Babylon 5 had “known for some time now that Mira’s health was fading.”

Interestingly, I found out today that HBO Max will be streaming Babylon 5 - not the screwed up “wide screen” version that Amazon Prime had.

Noooo!
Fewer and fewer of the cast are still alive. It seems working on Babylon 5 is much more dangerous to an actor’s health than working on Star Trek. So Biggs (Franklin), Katsulas (G’kar), O’Hare (Sinclail), Doyle (Garibaldi), Conaway (Allan), Furst (Cotto) and now Furlan (Delenn). Wow. Listing all of them, it seems the majority of the main cast has passed away! Ugh.

Babylon 5 is still one of the best SciFi series ever made, and Mira Furlan’s character Delenn was a big part of it. She had the gravitas and uses her accent to flavor her characters speech a bit (this was stronger in the pilot than in the rest of the series if memory serves). It also featured one of the greatest villains in all of scifi, Alfred Bester.

The series really stands the test of time. You can really tell that the storyline of the series was planned from the very beginning and it was always meant to be a 5-season arc. It was a series where most characters had lots of shades of gray rather than the Star Trekkie black-and-white. And all of this was in the mid-1990s, before the Sopranos. One of the first TV series where one of the main characters was LGBT (Ivanova). Main characters we were rooting for were falling for addiction (Garibaldi’s alcoholism and Franklin’s stim addiction). Aliens were much more alien instead of humans with ridges on their noses or pointy ears.

Some adaptations were made, because the actor who played the first commander (Sinclair) was suffering from severe mental illness. Or because other actors had other commitments. But one of the best series ever in my humble opinion.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.
