Does anyone know how I can take a DIVX movie and end up burning it onto DVD? I have an internal Pioneer A04, iDVD and DVD Studio Pro. Is there anything else I need?

did you try just dropping it onto iDVD and clicking burn? if the divx movie is longer than 90 minutes, you can cut it in half with Quicktime Pro, or do something in DVDSP, but I don't know how to use DVDSP

I have done this a couple of times now and it works fine but is a bit of a lengthy process. I use Divx Doctor II on the avi file which gives me a mov file and also takes the sound and converts that into non-compressed sound within the file.

From there I open the mov file in the Quicktime Pro version and save it as a mp2 file (which can take 3 to 4 to 5 hours depending on your processor speed) and then I save the sound as an aiff file ... again from quicktime.

I then convert the aiff file to an ac3 file, which is Dolby Digital. This will shrink the aiff.

In DVD Studio you can then combine both viseo and audio and create the VIDEO_TS folder which I then burn with toast to DVD. Even works with DVD-RW if it was erased before.

Good Luck

I've gone and downloaded the preview of QT 6. Do I need to uninstall that and go back to QT 5 in order to use Pro?

Thanks badidea, I even love the picture. Follow up problem. I am trying to cut a single movie into 2 parts, how can I set the selected parts without using the mouse, I can get my mouse to select 35:08 twice, but that leaves me with a duplicated frame, which is a problem when I try to resync the sound. any ideas.

Don't know how to select single frames but you have a lot more control when you do this:
Go to Movie -> Get Movie Properties and select Time from the right menu.
There you can even see 1/10 and 1/100 seconds!
You can now move the slider with the arrow keys on your keyboard and watch the 1/100 seconds...

Hope that helps!
