I honestly can't remember much about the other characters. I always found the pilot to be hilarious, but I'd never play as him. The beret wearing black clad special forces, I think I'd do.

I would have made some type of snide remark like, "You would have won if I'd been there" but then I saw the final score.

Had a blast with you guys yesterday, and Chris we sure did have some good Team Double action going on. We'll have to play again really soon.

i ended up getting a used 360 as a christmas present from my dad just a few days ago and he bought halo 3. i beat the game and yesterday i went and bought a LIVE card for $8. i just figured out that i need the wireless adapter for $100 or i can't play online at all (ethernet is out of the question). anyone else think it's strange that there's no built-in wifi? i'm kind of disappointed.
i'm dying to play halo online, it looks amazing.

Yeah, not having built-in wifi does suck but you don't have to use Microsoft's $100 adapter. Any ethernet to wireless bridge should work. Like this one:
Belkin Wireless G
I'm using an Airport Express myself. (It was practically free after my $100 iPhone credit.)

I'm going through a bit of xbox withdrawals these last couple days. Been at my parent's place, sans xbox. Even if they had one, their crappy satellite internet connection wouldn't allow for network play anyhow.
Hope you peeps got some good stuff for xmas!

Well Saturday I sat my ass down as 19 and decided that I was going to make a run at 21 -- It's been probably a month since I hit 20, and I've revisited it twice since then, only to derank fairly soon.
Things started off well, I reeled off 5 straight wins, and it seemed like number 6 might take me to the promised land. Loss. Take a break. Win. Loss.
It was all up and down from there. I spent an extended period of time as a 20 for the first time, and the first thing I noticed was I was getting serious occasional negative death ratios for the first time in a long time. But in the end, Those occasionals turned into a streak and I deranked back to 19. Then I played with my 15 friend and back to 18 I go. Again. I may never play ranked TS with a friend again.
So, to sum it all up, I still suck. I can't wait for everyone to carry my ass in BTB.

I played a little bit last night by myself in rumble pit, and was doing pretty good for being exhausted from the long Xmas day. Then some of my friends came online and we played ranked slayer, and that's when it all went down from there. I had one game where I had just one kill and 15 deaths! I have never in all my Halo playing days played a game so poorly. I respawned almost every time with members from the other team, and once I got sniped by accident the second I respawned. I know that bullet was meant for someone else on my team, but it was about a second after I respawned and then I was dead. I was embarassed by that performance, but things got better for me after time passed.
I'm gonna be playing in a little bit if anyone wants to hook up. Shoot me a game invite if you see me online.

Yeah, it happens to all of us. My M.O. on bad games is that I usually kill at a slower pace, so sometimes I only come up with 4-6 kills.

My biggest gripe with Halo has to be the respawn system. It's atrocious.

I just finished playing a little bit of Lone Wolves, and I didn't do so hot. I don't know what the hell my problem is, but I'm definitely in a slump right now and it's pissing me off. I have to get out of this rut.

I ranked down to 40 a couple days ago and I just won a Double Team game by myself, in which the stupid child on the other team referred to me as a little bitch.
Call me crazy, but beating two people ranked the same as you is no small task.

I just love it when kids let you know that they've just learned a naughty word. It makes them sound so grown up, doesn't it?

No, it's definitely not a small task. I got stuck by myself a few times in doubles before, and sometimes it's fun as you're kicking butt and others it's not. Good work!

I was playing ranked team slayer last night. Some dude on my team got "untouchable" status. He had 30 kills and didn't die once. And I thought I was a badass getting a "splatter spree" during the same match.

Guys, that's what you call cheating. There's been people who have figured out ways to cheat, to make themselves invincible, and that guy must have been cheating. There's no way you could play a perfect round, I don't care who you are or who you think you are.

I think my brother has done it before, and I'm sure he doesn't cheat (or even know how). It's just a matter of being good and lucking into opponents who are subpar.

I've seen very few instances of shady business, as opposed to H2 where anyone ranked above a 35 got there by cheating.
I figure that if it's an actual award then it must be possible...I'd bet he had more than a few sniper kills.

Here's a tip that most probably already know when playing ranked slayer...
If it's you and just your friends playing together, have the person with the lowest rank be the party leader and choose the option of closest skill rank. This will bring in more players who have a lower rank more similar to that person's, so that the higher ranked players can have a field day with that other team.

No, you're right about that. Any time I do a little bit on the bad side some of the guys get upset. However, I'm usually playing with my friends who won't bust my balls if I do poorly, and instead they do what most friends would do... give me encouragement to do better.

I don't believe he was cheating. He seemed genuinely excited after the match. To the point that he had a hard time holding the controller because his hands were still shaking. The team we faced just flat out sucked. No one in this match was ranked above 11.

I'll be on today around 4:30-8.
I'm going to be down for mostly unranked since I can't seem to win any more TS matches (I must be a hair away from 39 right now).
I was hoping to hit 45 before I get the dreaded Grade 2 Colonel rank.....but with all the Social matches lately I doubt I'll hit 45 before I hit 600 exp.

Heh, what can I say? I LOVE Half Life 2.
Also, I found a way to beat two levels with 3 less portals than gold....I know, I'm amazing.
But yes, it's a man-date.

Thanks to awful Matchmaking today I was forced to destroy Dakar 1v1 He saw my 'nade throwing first hand...let's have a look.
And one, directly in the face using only the radar (I'm such a spoiled winner, aren't I?)
But seriously, that second stick was pretty amazing, you can bask in its' glory HERE

I was wondering how long it would take you to tarnish my image. The answer -- 20 minutes.
Yes, friends, bungie condemned me to 45 minutes of death thanks to their Matchmaking servers sucking worse than I do.
The first game was on a custom Epitaph level I made, and I hung in decently well thanks to sek's unfamiliarity with the level, less than friendly grenade throwing lanes, and a healthy dose of invisibility.
The second game sek was far more at home on the now-out-of-date stock Guardian level. Here his grenade throwing thwarted my every attempt to use a power weapon. I did manage to stick the sucker once, from medium-range, and an inappropriately cocky farewell was uttered from my lips as he blew into a million surprised pieces. In the end, it wasn't even close, and that was with out dear sek being kind enough not to use his favored tool of destruction more than 5 times (I escaped once, thankfully).
By the way, publishing that clip to the bungie community forums is a Grade-A Dick Move. Well done.

Remember, I've been mastering this game since Halo 1 came out on the xbox. You've got some skills, and that whacky Epitaph level was pretty interesting. You certainly got the best of me multiple times and I had difficulty finding you before you found me.

A much harder level to hide on, Guardian is! I thoroughly enjoyed this game because I love Guardian, and I kicked ass. Seriously though, you evaded me well more than once and I seem to remember a full-court grenade exploding in my lips.
