When you bought your Apple Watch, did you have a hard time picking which color you wanted to sport on your arm? We thought our choice was fairly obvious, but sometimes we still wistfully wonder what could have been if we'd picked space gray, gold, or even simple silver. Now, thanks to Griffin, you can change up your style for far less than the cost of a new Apple Watch with their Ultra Thin Case.

When you purchase the Ultra Thin Case from Griffin, you'll actually get a three pack of cases. Depending on the pack you buy, you'll get some different color options. There's a polished color, a matte color, and a clear option, with each set being able to be purchased in silver or gold.
We tried out a silver pack, and found that we liked the matte silver far better than the polished silver, but we liked the clear better than the rest. The only problem we have with the clear case is that it comes with the brand name "Griffin" printed at the bottom, though it's not really a deal breaker.
The plastic itself doesn't feel terribly durable, measuring only a half a millimeter thick, though it's not a huge deal once you have the case on your Watch. We assume the biggest reason for the flimsy plastic is because it's easy to snap on and off, and doesn't require you to remove your Watch band, or even remove your Watch in the first place.
It's worth noting that this is a cosmetic case, rather than one that is designed to be heavy-duty protective, so don't plan on snagging this to protect your Apple Watch from bumps or scratches.
There's a pretty big downside to the design of this case, though, which is that it's prone to popping off if it gets caught on clothing or brushed against anything. We had put our hand between a car seat and the console to retrieve our iPhone and found that our Ultra Thin Case popped off and fell into the gap with our iPhone. We've also had the case pop off when changing clothing or pulling off coats and hoodies as well. If you're going to get this as a cosmetic accessory to your Apple Watch, we would suggest that you make sure you're ready to keep an eye out for cases that make a break for freedom every so often.
While we're not the biggest fans of this case, we are pretty impressed with how nice the matte and clear cases look, and we're pretty sure that they'd protect your Apple Watch from average wear and tear while still keeping the Digital Crown fully functional. If you're looking for a quick way to change up the way your Watch looks, head over to Amazon and grab the Ultra Thin Case by Griffin for $15. Who the Ultra Thin Case is for: Anyone looking to change up their style quickly, or prevent normal wear and tear, should get a fair amount of use out of this case. Who may not need the Ultra Thin Case: If you're looking for serious protection from bumps or potential screen shattering, pass on this one. -- Amber Neely (@SurferAmber) Readers: do you have an app or product that you'd like to see us review? I've used these almost since I got my watch. Since I'm old, and old people like gold stuff, I use the glossy gold one. It looks great with an inexpensive gold band from Woot.

These things do pop off. One thing that will help them stay on is to not take it on and off all the time. Put it on and leave it on. And it does help from getting the watch case all scratched up.
