You know those chimes that come on whenever you turn on a Mac? I was wondering if I could change that "tone" to something else and/or extend the length that it plays so I can play something longer.
If not, I was wondering if I could do something like play music when the login panel pops up. You know like in Windows. Not that I'm saying Windows is better.
Help anyone?!

It is possible in theory, but viciously difficult. The sound is in firmware. I guess the short answer is 'there is no easy way to do this'.

To be clear this does not change the chimes that the op is talking about, it adds a sound when you log in.
