Just wondering what the quality of the LCD's are and what the odds are of getting a bad one.

Mine is free of dead pixels, but in a thread around here someone mentioned having (a) dead pixel(s) and Apple replacing the iPhone for then.

That was iCruise. He had a dead pixel on his 4 gig iPhone but replaced it with an 8 gig. Checkout his iPhone blog thread. I'm happy to report that mine is free of dead pixels too.

Edit - You were right. It was ::maroma:: who had Apple replace his dead pixel iPhone.

I had a dead pixel on my original 4gb model, but that wasn't the reason I traded up to the 8gb. It was only noticeable on dark backgrounds, but I am glad that my new one is OK.

I also had one dead pixel on my 8GB. It was right in the middle of my screen so I had to get it replaced. It was bugging me too much. They replaced it no problem.

Damn, sounds good. Apple is normally such jerks with dead pixels even ones who spend thousands on 30" displays.
