The 17-inch PowerBook is made in Taiwan. It will not ship from inside the United States.

Hmm...yeah, I'd say it'd either ship from Taiwan, PA, or CA...let us know what it is though!

I'm sure you've already thought about whether or not it could be other packages, so this is indeed odd. Here's hoping... :-)

I know Apple uses Federal Express for their two-day shipments, but I think they may still use UPS for ground shipments (which orders, I believe, are by default). Who knows...

I think that is too heavy to be what we are waiting for. And I also think that Apple uses FedEx exclusively... (THAT I could be wrong with... oh well). The 17" weighs at most 8 pounds with everything. Add a pound or two for packaging and such... 4 pounds at most. That still leaves you with 5 pounds to make up for... sorry to take the pessimestic side of things.

Hate to burst your bubble, Apple doesn't ship their products through UPS, unless you're some big shot with a massive order and wanted it shipped by other carriers. Apple uses FedEx Ground for their ground shipments nad Federal Express for 2-day.
So perhaps you ordered something else you might have forgotten, or someone got you a gift

Well, I know for a fact Apple *does* use UPS. For parts of my order, some things came FedEx, some UPS, and some still haven't came (including my 17" PB), so don't give up hope quite yet...here's to being patient!

Bwahahaha!!!
17 lbs of BBQ sauce? Hmm... I guess you really must like BBQs.
At least you can think about that. Up here we're at -10 C today.
We're 17"-less as well, but fortunately I have a 15" TiBook.
