I remember reading a few posts where people claimed 5 or so hours with Panther. I was just wanting some real world feedback on batter life now that Panther is making its way out.

My ADC shipment shipped today so I'll install it soon on my rev B 17"
Dual 500 G4 :: 576mb :: 180gb (120+40+20)
17" PB G4 1.33 gHz :: 1gb :: 80 gb @ 5400rpm

Not for me, just yet. I installed on adapter power and had a full charge when I unplugged. Showed 2:03 on timer. Reset power manager and restarted it then said 1:56. Been on it updating and checking to see if any apps are not functioning for about 90 minutes and am down to 30 minutes. Will see what happens after I recondition the battery. Its going to royally piss me off if theyr screwed the pooch like they did with the initial 10.2.8. Energy saver is set to automatic on both processor and all other settings. Screen is at 3 bars. running a new 1.25 gig stock 15"Alumibook with 1024 Meg RAM.

but i am seeing speed improvements EVERYWHERE, so i am happy enough!

I'm curious about general battery life people are getting with their 12" 1Ghz PBs.

Also, the battery life meter is notoriously inaccurate - It's only a prediction. Often you get more than it says you will, and sometimes, you get less. I would definitely recommend timing actual battery life.

Going from 10.2.7 to 10.3 my listed time went up about 1 hour. Though I think I'm still getting the same amount of time, just more accurate now...which is about 3.5 hours of surfing the net on battery.

I have a 15" pb 1.25 GHz, 5400 rpm HD, 512 MB...

How much brightness and which power setting have you set it on?
Do you have bluetooth or airport on?

Rev B 12" states that I have 4 hours remaining on a full battery, instead of 2.5 hours as it used to be. I have to actually time it though.

Does X-Charge (freeware) still work with Panther? It's a really nifty way to graph your battery life--especially since the indicator is so inaccurate. Please also post what your energy saver options are, namely are you on "highest" performance?

I'm seeing about a 12.5% increase in battery life on my 17PB revA. It lasted 2h 38m before the forced sleep mode kicked in.

Most of us change volume and brightness setting every couple of hours, also dick activity changes all the time. It's impossible to make any statement on this.
