Well it's almost been a year since the mini iPods came out, and was wondering if anyone has heard any rumors as to what the 2nd gen mini iPod would bring. I would love to upgrade my 1st gen iPod, but not for something smaller. Could macworld bring the new version? or is this just a pipe dream?
Hoping for a 10gb mini!

I would think just 5 or 6 gigs if anything as that seems to be the highest the drive comes in now.

6 GB Hitachi drives are sampling in this quarter, with full production in 2005.
I'm hoping for a 6 GB mini at MWSF in January, although that's pushing it.
Interesting website by the way.

mini-HD MP3 player price has held steady even one year after iPod mini was release. Most of the players are around $250.
I will not be surprised to see that iPod mini does not receive any update in January or simply up to 5GB.

I dono if we'd see more colours. That said I don't know if we'll see another gig either way. Anyway I love my mini that's all that matters
That said what other colours could they add?
I think we'll see iPod tiny first.

I would like to see them release a purple iPod mini. Maybe some sort of special edition white one? Can they make the annodized aluminum white? It would look cool if they could.

I've wanted a 6 Gig Mini for over a year! I was in the same boat where I didn't want to downgrade from my first Gen 5 Gig. It's since died and I have a couple more 20GB ipods, but I still lust after a green mini.

With how well all of the Minis are selling now, I would be surprised if Apple was to come out with a larger version now... it would just add cost. They already can't make enough of the 4GB models now.

5 or 6 gig drive, with a new colour... I have a theory on this.
iPod mini's are silver, blue, green, pink and gold.
iPod socks are grey, blue, green, pink, orange and PURPLE.
Purple 5gb iPod mini...

It'll be much easier if you just comply.

The technology used for the iPod's future 80 GB drive will bring its tiny 0.85" drive to 8 GB... eventually.

Marginally larger hd. Seeing the popularity of the design, I don't think there'll be any changes apart from colors (maybe). Maybe a special edition iPod mini.
But don't expect much to change with the mini. Maybe they'll keep the model with the smaller hd and make it cheaper (then, I think, I'll become weak and buy one).

The Minis don't need to be that larger, 5 or 6GB would be fine. If not, one should jump to an iPod. I could see new colors to brand them differently than the 1G Minis.

I'd probably buy a 5GB iPod mini, if they end up being announced at Macworld. It's around the time, I will have the money for one. Even better would be if Apple dropped the price of the old ones to $299 Cdn (199 US). I don't feel they are worth $349 Cdn, so I've held off buying one till now.
At least when the new ones come out, I'll gain a GB of extra storage...

I could see Apple dropping the gold colour, I don't think that has been a very popular colour for them. I'd like to see an anodized black iPod mini.
