Hi,

In June a friend of mine is going on a trip to New York, and I'm wondering if there's any places to walk in from the street and buy Apple hardware (PCI videocards and CPU upgrades for a Beige G3)?

If the answer is yes, then do you have addresses or web addresses for the dealers?

Regards,

Kim

Just watch out for our 8.675% sales tax. I order most of my computer equipment online to avoid said tax.

J & R Music and Computer World is a great one stop place.

J&R? expensive w/ horrible customer service and policies and relatively limitted Mac-related stuff actually in the store. look at stuff there but BUY ELSEWHERE!! It's fun to see all that stuff in one place but not buy and certainly not expect reliable help. It's typical sleezy electronics sales hell.

When I was looking at Wacom products the salesperson had no clue about the difference between Intuos and Graphire, what colors the products came in, what was old product, new product...

Everything I've ever looked at there was readily available from reputable dealers elsewhere for less. Not counting taxes.

Tekserve is reliable and established. You do have to plan on waiting because it's very busy and you invariably have to take a number to get help. But they know their product from what I can tell.
