Israel Isreal an Apartheid State ?

Heard an interesting discussion a little while ago on the radio, I think it was a news reporter chatting to an Israeli thinker/writer who was espousing the view that Israel is an Apartheid State. He seemed to be saying that Israel has constitutionallly legitimised a racist view of themselves ?
Anyone here heard of this guy and his views ?
Have dabbled around in Google from time to time looking for this story but I probably didn't have enough meat in my sandwich nor am I certain of which radio station I heard this on.
As an aside to this issue I saw this Sculptors work on tv which seems to attempt an esoteric resolution of the Palistine Israel malaise

We've discussed this before, and in fact the term 'apartheid' has come up in the past. Search this thread for 'israel apartheid'.

Off course Israel is an apartheit state, even within the borders of Israel, but espescially in the occupied areas.
While Israel's policies in the occupied areas are inacceptable, many view the apartheit-policy inside the borders of Israel as necessary in order to preserve the jewish nature of Israel.
But that topic has been discussed again and again, so I propose the closure of this thread.

Some of whom have called Israel an apartheid state are Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu. But of course they have no idea what they are talking about
