Hi all,

Just a quick question on how firewire target disk mode works...

If I put a Powermac G4 into FTDM to connect my ibook, which of the drives from the G4 will show up on the ibook?

1) internal ATA boot drive
2) internal drive on secondary IDE chain
3) an internal drive connected to a PCI IDE card
4) a CD in the optical drive
5) an external firewire HD

Anyone know? I'm guessing 1 and 2 probably, but what about 3 and 5?

on't want to mess with the shared computer at work until I know.

Thanks for any help!

see: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=58583

quote:

"Note 1: FireWire Target Disk Mode works on internal ATA drives only. Target Disk Mode only connects to the master ATA drive on the Ultra ATA bus. It will not connect to Slave ATA, ATAPI or SCSI drives."

So you'll see only the master IDE harddrive on the primary IDE chain, number 1 in your case.
