I have the new mac pro and its update from 10.5.1 is 341MB. That is the largest update I have ever had for OS X. I can't believe it. I really hope this fixes the bug when it restarts the mac pro from sleep.

Weird, that's the combo updater... only about 180MB for Intel.

I don't think it's that it's Intel...i think it's whether or not you have the X11 features installed. My PowerMac G4 and MacBook Pro were both 180 because I haven't installed the X11 package.

So I just updated (and did the Graphics update) and now my menus are no longer translucent. My menu bar is, but all the drop down menus (and contextual menus) are solid white. It looks like crap. Did this happen to anyone else? I have a new Mac Pro (2008) with the ATI 2600.

I thought mine looked a little different too. It seem to be less translucent, but since I updated my MBP and G4 at the same time I have no way to compare. I would check in the Desktop and Screen Saver preferences at the bottom and make sure Translucent Menu Bar is checked. Other than that I'm not sure what to tell ya. :-\

They’re still translucent, but only just. If you look at your screen from a low angle, you should see it.

It's gotta be something else, because my Intel iMac DLed the full 341 MB.

That's gotta be the combo updater. My Mac Pro told me to grab the 180MB one.

Nope, totally white. I opened an image in photoshop (half is white, half is black). I then popped open a menu. If there was any translucency, I should be able to see the "black" side as darker in the menu. But nope, it is still solid white.

But why would my Intel iMac tell me to get the Combo Updater ?

Please use the 10.5.2 is out thread in the OS X forum.

BTW, the download was 180 MB for me (2 GHz first-gen ProBook).
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.
