I just bought a macbook on saturday and today (tuesday) ilife '08 comes out! is there anyone i could call apple or go to the store where i purchased the macbook and get a free or greatly discounted copy? Because I'm a little upset that 3 days after I buy my computer, the upgraded software comes out. Thanks for you help

Or you could completely return the Macbook that you purchased.
Apple has a 14 day money back refund policy, return you old Macbook, get a new one with the new iLife 08 preinstalled.

Just return the old one and get a new one. However, I think even with a new one, you have to pay $10 for an upgrade.

No, not if it is new. iLife comes standard on every new Mac. And congrats on the new MacBook!

the only problem with returning it is that there is a restocking fee which is more than the $71 for iLife '08. Any other ideas?

haha, i just ran into the same problem (bought my MacBook on the 4th). I went to the Apple Store, and was prepared to buy iLife, if necessary. I walked in, explained the story; and the guy was pretty much like it's no biggie, handed me a copy of iLife off the shelf, and I was out the door (right after I got a few looks at the new iMac.)
