Hi!
I use a Mac Book Pro running Mac OS X Snow Leopard and I am looking for an Avery-compatible labeling software.
(1) Would you recommend the Avery Design Pro for Mac?
(2) Or, would you recommend another software? Which one?

I use InDesign, and made my own templates. But I've heard people say that the Avery software is good.

I've used Avery Design Pro and found it easy to use and produces good results although I don't try anything too fancy, just basic labels. Since it's free why not download it and give it a shot.
I also use SOHO Labels which is pretty sophisticated but it does a lot and costs quite a bit.

This might come as a shock to some, but Word for Mac has very good built-in support for all kinds of Avery labels.
Also, you can download free Word templates from the Avery website.

By the way, turtle777, I do not use MS Word for Mac; after many years of aggravation, I want nothing to do with MS.

I can understand that. Albeit, the latest iteration (MS Office 2011) is not too bad.
All I can say is that Word is pretty good with templates. InDesign sounds like a complete overkill to me.

Hey, you use what you have. I didn't have office at the time I made the templates, and am picky about spacing, leading, etc that Word is klutzy at.

I use Avery DesignPro for labels, postcards, etc. It's not InDesign and it has a few frustrating quirks (the biggest: you can't do line by line formatting, you have to have the same text formatting for an entire text box). But for just turning out a small project, it's fine and it's free.

I use Avery DesignPro for CD & DVD labels. Works great and has a reasonable selection of templates.
And I use Word for the more typical envelope/folder/business labels. Easy to use.
