In the spirit of inane and irrelevant threads, here is one:
What do you collect, if anything? I like to buy first edition and rare books.
Also, antique fabrics (like from the 1700s and 1800s) because we make custom home accessories from antique fabric (draperies, sheets, etc.,) with a little company I have. I also collect antique buttons and similar textile items for embellishment of our items. Some of the things we find are really amazing. Recently bought some antique linen that is from Egypt and it's beautiful.
Anyone else?

You're from Ellensburg?
TOTALLY
I love going to concerts out there at "The Gorge at George."
Anyway, yes, I like collecting Apple items also.
Does anyone sell their items on eBay? (I might bid!)

I don't collect much, but my brother-in-law (now deceased) collected Budweiser stuff. Rooms full of neon lights, mirrors, steins, etc.). He was a collect-a-holic.

I collect web sites.
My collection is called "The Internet". Maybe you've heard of it? .
Seriously, I used to be a big Star Wars and Star Trek collector. I just got very burned out by it all. Chasing this, grabbing that, conventions, etc. Believe me, the cool stuff I still have, but most of it's gone the way of eBay.
Then I started collecting 35mm movies and trailers. Still have them all. The two 35mm prints I love the most is my 1977 print of Star Wars before "Episode IV" was slapped on it, and one of 2 existing 35mm prints of the original 3-hour Battlestar Galactica pilot from ABC, complete with "PLACE COMMERCIAL HERE" frames.

This thread could also be subtitled "So that's where all my money went!"
I used to collect Beatles records, glass insulators, older computers, date nails, old German school books, police patches, modern paper money (just the everyday stuff), and a couple of other things.
I have several musical instruments too, but I don't have the income to "collect" them.
Anyway, I'm getting rid of some of the stuff and not acquiring anything new. I'm going to die some day and I don't want to leave behind all this junk for someone else to have to sort through and dispose of. And there isn't enough time to build a pyramid so that I can have my things buried with me (someone would break in and steal it all anyway).
Collecting is great for the very young but , as I become older, I feel having fewer possessions actually makes me happier.

Me too. Possessions are a responsibility: acquire too many and they start to own you, rather than the other way round. The only things I need more of are non-material, like free time, and more fun.
I enjoy learning about other folks' collections, but have just never been a collector myself.

That is so true.
I realized this a little while ago and just stopped buying.
My Dad had a huge collection of books that we're deciding what to do with now. Probably no choice but to just sell the whole collection en bloc to an antiquarian. Sad. Very sad.

Germany, unfortunately.
And most of the rare stuff is, naturally, in German.

Any religious/occult/masonic stuff? I'd be interested, even if I have to pay Intl shipping.
Oh yeah, I collect antiquarian and rare books and manuscripts.

Floaty Pens. I've never bought one for myself but I now have over 100. The collection snowballed when a few of my friends who had to travel for work decided to bring back airport gifts.
It went from slightly annoying to endearing and now I am obsessed with them. PM me if you have the desire to buy me more...

LOL!
Well, guess I shouldn't find it amusing, but I do find it admirable that you admit it with such frankness.

In college and medical school I had a pretty cool CD collection (lots of rare imports, limited editions, etc). Still have 'em all (about 1500 or so), but not too much in to collecting any more.

I used to collect Star Trek stuff back in the day. But then Star Trek turned to crap and I stopped caring.
If I collect anything now, I suppose it would be Smashing Pumpkins songs (Link in signature)
