my girlfriend got a krzr from verizon today. She is trying to sync it to her macbook via iSync and she is getting a message saying isync can't sync with this device. Apple lists it as compatible on their isync site. Also we are trying to send a mp3 ringtone to it from osx, the file sends and i put it in the "ringtone" folder but the phone automatically puts it in the "audio" folder on its own and the tone doesn't show up anywhere. Ideas. help please!

What are you trying to use to sync? USB or Bluetooth?

You might not be able to send MP3 ringtones to the phone, as Verizon tends to lock that down so that they can charge you whatever outrageous fee it is to buy ringtones over their "Get It Now" service.

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!

Yes, the way to do the addressbook is different though.

Open Addressbook
Select All (the addressbook entries)
Go to Menu > Card
Select "Send this card..."

make sure you are paired via bluetooth first. Enjoy.

On a Verizon phone?

Anyway, the calendar is essentially broken using Verizon's firmware. I was able to get my address book to synch making both discoverable, etc. etc. but the address book will start "drifting" days if you try to enable it. I gave up and haven't seen a quasi-simple fix. I consider myself rather hack savvy, but at the same time, I don't want a dead phone.

It's the only "gotcha" in my book with this otherwise cool little phone.

Verizon is shooting themselves in the foot with ridiculous locking down they do of their phones. My 815e wouldn't even permit the transfer of photos via bluetooth.

Yeah, well, Verizon cripples the Bluetooth (I think they cripple the USB transfer functionality, as well) so that you pay money to use Verizon's own transfer methods which aren't so cheap. Which is why I'll never ever use Verizon.

When I try to do this it won't do all the cards at once, it does it one card at a time. That can't be right, can it????
