You know the problem with that, right?

No, not the messy cables... It's the Notre Dame sticker! BOOOO! j/k

I've recently redone my setup with a new L-desk that allows me a work area with my MBP and a separate area to set up my flight sim gear (specifically for Falcon 4). I have zip-tied most of the cables under the desk to the metal desk frame not only to secure them, but mainly to make it look neat, especially since you can see through the glass desk. And, if anyone's wondering from the lamp, I went to NC State but was born a Hokie.

Here's the full-on view:

Here are the MBP, Klipsch speakers, 16GB iPhone, BT Mighty Mouse, two 1TB MyBooks hooked up by FW800 (one for movies and downloads, the other for Time Machine), and a trash can I bought at Staples because it looks like the one in my dock. Right of the trash can are a few cases to hold my DVD library. To the upper right is my HP OfficeJet 6210, cable modem, Airport Extreme fast ethernet 802.11n, and a USB hub. Hidden behind the printer are a BT Logitech MX1000 and a teardrop AEBS 802.11g (which I have bridged to the other AEBS so my iPhone, Mac Mini G4, and MB elsewhere in the house can run at g-speeds).

Here's the flight sim gear side of things. I don't always hook up the monitor while I'm in OS X. There's a TrackIR 4 atop the monitor, and below are a CH FighterStick, Throttle Quadrant, Pro Throttle, Pro Pedals, an X-Keys 20 velcroed to the printer (to serve as various cockpit keys), Aimsworth F-16 MFDs and ICP, and an Apple aluminum keyboard and wired Mighty Mouse. Hidden is a Nostromo SpeedPad N52 that I use in FPS games.

CudeDude, that's a nice feeling, huh? I love mine and you'll love yours. You'll have to change your name, though. Maybe something like AirDude.

Hey sorry for the late reply. I do not remember exactly where the desktop came from in my screenshot, but it is most likely from www.interfacelift.com or www.deviantart.com.

UGH. I pity you. Had to do that about 3 years ago and took forever. I too have an especially extensive CD collection.

The new MacBooks are gorgeous! I hope to get one in the next year or so. I'm going into graphic and web design for a major, so I'm thinking about upgrading my laptop to a pro to help with that. Right now this is my setup in my dorm...

13" MacBook, 2.0ghz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, 1gb RAM, 120gb HDD, 200gb Hitachi External HDD, Logitech AudioHub Laptop Speakers/3 port USB Hub, Logitech EX 110 Wireless Desktop set, Homemade stand made of 1/2 inch pvc pipe.

There were times in the past when the latest and greatest looked radically different in some way from the previous version. I expect that we'll have to wait until people get the newest laptops in hand and actually get to play with them.

I would be too if I didn't do video editing and NEED a Firewire port. In fact, I'd prefer the 13" screen display on the MB. It's "coach seat friendly".

No it's the new Macbook Pro which actually resembles the old Titanium Powerbook... it's kind of ironic how much they look alike.

Seeing those old Air unboxing pics, plus setting up my wife's new 15-inch MBP today (also now a white box), made me realize how jarring the lack of black packaging is. Still, of course, if white is greener and cheaper I'm over it.

Got it about 3 weeks ago. Never really got down to taking nice shots of it even though it's so sexy. But i just got the canon 85mm f/1.2L II prime today so i decided to take some portrait shots of it. Shot at an aperture of f1.2, it makes it even sexier.

I dropped everything as soon as i got home, and started taking pics of it. Didn't remember to wipe the top of the mbp clean. So my fingerprints are quite visible on top of it. It's because i caress it every night before i sleep

The fingerprints make it look real. Somehow, you got the whole case to look like milk chocolate... Great pix.

Interesting locale. Does the MBP control the camera here, or is it just a BIG viewfinder?

Yeah, I was controlling the camera. Actually doing a time-lapse, and needed something that I could save 1600 NEF files onto without worrying about disk space

Backups are like guns and condoms. It's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

No. Came close to getting an iMac (for the family) and an MBP (for me), but decided to conserve cash given the economic situation.
