What do you use all that PowerMac power for? Most of us have posted our setups in the PowerMac Picture Thread. Here post what you do with your dream machine.

Make sure you post your specs so we all get an idea how much power you got to do the things you do. Be sure to post pictures if you setup needs an explaination (music setup). Tell us what software you run on that hardware aswell.

-----------------------

DP 2.0ghz/ 2.5gb ram/ 160gb/9660 128mb

Mostly use this machine for some graphic work in Photoshop CS and also web design with PS and Dreamweaver. Lots of photo storage like most people with iphoto and the odd Movie in iMovie or FCP.

I've got a few:
B&W G3/450/13GB/640MB/Tiger: gave to GF, she uses it for schoolwork, internet, etc.
Beige G3/G4 450/6GB+6GB+4GB/384MB/Tiger: server/whatever. currently running BOINC for one of the TeamMacNN groups
Beige G3/300/4Gb/92MB/9.2: exists only to act as a bridge to my powerbook 5300cs picture frame
Beige G3/413/4GB/192/Jaguar: Gave to a friend here at school for schoolwork/general internet stuff

And I've got a couple spare Beige G3's for parts, along with some NuBus models at home that aren't used anymore.

At work, I use a Dual 1.0 G4 for Photoshop, Illustrator, Quark, and general administrative tasks, like managing our email domain, archiving artwork, etc.

At home, I have a dual 2.0 G5 that I use for Logic (serious mixing/recording projects), Garage Band (goofing around, sketching rehearsing), Photoshop (scanning huge library of 35mm slides) InDesign, iPhoto (family digi-snapshots), GoLive, mail, etc. I especially like the horsepower for Logic, which was maxing out my old G4, and having lots of RAM for big PS files.

I use my Powerbook to keep a huge to-do list in Omni Outliner Pro, and for remote recording, and surfing on the couch.

See my signature for specs.

Funnily enough. I do nothing really demanding. In a year its 75% business productivity (Word/Excel & Safari/Entourage) and then the rest is Photos and video.

I have used powermacs for years. At one stage I had a great Protools set up on a single G4, then when I got out of my band I moved on and got the Dual G5 but use it mainly for the purposes of my law degree.

Dual 1.8 G5, 200 Gig and 160 Gig hard drives, 2 Gigs RAM, Radeon 9600 Pro 128 Mb video card.

I do Web design with Macromedia Studio 8, rip and burn DVDs, word process and wander the Net more than anything else, but iPhoto and iTunes also get their time.
