Joshua Tree, War, Unforgettable Fire, Achtung Baby <- where the downhill slide began (electronic influence worked on it, but not after), only stopped a decade later

I bet nobody answers with "Pop."

Discotheque!

I remember the buzz clip of that video coming off fairly homoerotic and reminding me of the Village People.

There's only one U2 album I really like from start to finish:

Oh, wait, let me throw in Rattle & Hum. I used to listen to that every morning while i was showering. It was the only tape I had and the boombox in the bathroom had no CD player.

Unforgettable Fire. The only U2 album I routinely listen to in its entirety.

I'll throw in Under a blood red sky simply because I think that rendention of Sunday is one of my favorites (the album itself is awsome too).

Just my .02... but they started changing at Joshua Tree (although side 2 does remind me of Fire with its mellow tunes)... and became a different band after that.

Joshua Tree. I was a Senior in High School when that came out and remember listening to the tape driving to school. Great memories.

I'd put Pop up there. The songs actually sound different from one another on that album unlike so much of U2's other stuff.

No kidding..... I remember my friend's big siblings talking 'bout them. We paid no attention as we rather be playing with Star Wars toys. Then came middle school when you'd often see U2 scribbled on desktops next to "judas priest", "The Clash", and "black flag". Naturally, I thought they were a punk/metal band before I actually heard them in for the first time in late 84.

Hm... now I feel real damn old.

Rattle & Hum (it's really just great with the exception of Van Deimen's Land or whatever it's called)
Joshua Tree
Achtung Baby
All That You Can't Leave Behind (it has really grown on me the more I listen to it)
How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb (it has really grown on me the more I listen to it)
War (some great songs, some could be left out)

Rattle & Hum is near the top for me, regardless of band.
