I was just looking around Apple's site, and when you click on the G4 Power Adapter link (from tech specs) it seems to be saying (though it isn't very clear at all) that that adapter is for the G4 only. Does this mean that I can't use my second iBook adapter (that I got for free) on my new laptop, like I was on my Wallstreet?
(here's the addy: http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPL...More=M8243LL/A )

The Plug for the PowerBook G4 power adapter is more like a TV RCA jack than any cord that I've seen before.

sorry, but the page *very* clearly says
"Important: Only compatible with the PowerBook G4"
and besides, all the reports floating around say the same thing.

"The 45-watt AC adapter for the ***** iBook and PowerBook ***** features dual voltage (100-240 volts) capability, a two-prong connector and a small, light, roll-up power cord. This power adapter recharges the lithium ion battery while the system is off, on, or in sleep mode. It also powers the system if you choose to operate without a battery.
Important: Only compatible with the PowerBook G4 "
it only "very clearly" states that it's only compatible with the G4 after "very clearly" stating that this entry is about the iBook and PowerBook adapter. To me, that's the part that makes it unclear. It's of no concern in the end, I just have an iBook adapter (but no iBook) that I wanted to use).

Hey, I just realized that, in retrospect, what the Apple Store had posted (about the new adapter only working with PBG4 and iBooks... must have meant new iBooks) was a pretty clear sign that new iBooks were coming out... I discovered it and never realized it...

The dual USB iBook can share the same power adapter as the TiBook... the only difference is the little knob on the end of the TiBook adapter... if it is turned the wrong way, it will prevent the CD tray from opening... other than that, they are ths same phsyical dimensions...
regards,
dave
