I'm having trouble with a power mac 5200. It turns on from the power button on the keyboard, so I know the keyboard is connected/working, the mouse/keyboard do nothing else.

I can't zap the pram, hold down shift to disable extensions, or c to boot from a cd. At first I thought the computer might have a bad system folder, and was going to reinstall it, but the system seems fine.

The mouse just won't move and the computer doesn't notice anything that is typed.

I reset the logic board and that didn't seem to help. Any ideas?

Before you swapped logic boards, you might have swapped keyboards ...
;-)

Earnestly, either the keyboard itself or the cable between kb and computer could be damaged in a subtle way.

Good luck,

Walter.

Swapping keyboards/cables was the first thing I did, just forgot to mention it the first time..we all do forget the simplest things though...doh

I didn't swap the logic board though, just reset it with the small button on it for that purpose

anyone else have an idea?
