I just realized that. I think this is the longest time I've been on a web site consistently.

And I remember the day I logged in, too.

Cheers, everyone. Thanks for making it a fun ride.

No idea. 5,000 maybe?

'Tis irrelevant anyways, is it not? Except when a joke needs to be wheeled out, of course.

I've been here for at least 15 years. I started visiting MacNN regularly in 1995. I don't remember exactly when the forums started, but I first started posting as an unregistered user back then. I used Person Man and a couple of times I even used my real name.

I was around for the NewsFactor Network Fiasco (which I remember well. I was in Europe when that happened and I remember visiting from internet cafes in Greece and Germany every day to watch what was happening). Shortly after that the forums changed to disallow unregistered posting and that's when I made my account, 9 years ago.

Some of those unregistered posts appear in the archives. I tried looking for them, but apparently the search function doesn't work (very well) for unregistered user names.

I've given MacNN the best years of my life and what have I got in return?

Well.. you're a good crowd.

Though the forums are only a fraction as active as they were when I joined.

Looks like the forums got started in October 1999. Those are the oldest posts I've seen.

There are some earlier ones, but I think those come from the server clock being off.

15,000, I believe. Which means you should be getting your crazy-stars just in time for Boxing Day 2048.

Edit: Sorry, you said five stars. I understood crazy-stars. Five stars is 5,000, I think. (Too lazy to go look for the thread with the numbers)

I miss the days where I could say that I want to hump an SUV and he would go crazy. I miss Abe going crazy too. This place needs some more action, the only thing we have left is admiring stupendousman's persistence and besson3c's all round brilliance.

So nearly another 2000 posts for 5 stars, the chances of that by December are... slim. Ah well, I like my 4 yellow stars with a clear one (is that a half star or something?). Happy days, and congrats to all the long serving members!

It'll be much easier if you just comply.

Hmm, so if 5 stars is 5,000 posts, does that mean 4 1/2 is 2,500? Just askin' 'cause I'm almost to that point.

I will have 10 official years in September but I've got another year as a lurker before that. I think I first found the MacNN Lounge in late Summer 1999.

W0W!?! That was a whole other lifetime ago for me.
