Hi,
This issue has come up twice recently, would like to understand how to deal with it.

1) My boss splits his iTunes library between his work machine (which holds work-related audiobooks and such) and his home machine (music), and have his Nano hold the contents of both. When he's tried syncing the iPod to each machine, it wipes out the stuff from the other. Will manual loading on the iPod enable that to work? It would seem that both machines would have to be set to manual load. Is there a better solution?

2) I have my iPod photo auto-synced to my machine here. This weekend, I'll be at my in-laws, and they want to experiment with putting some of their pictures on the iPod. If we configure the iPod on their machine to load manually, can we load up some pictures without wiping the rest of what's on the iPod? Though I can get it back, I do *not* want to wipe the iPod. When we get home and auto-sync again on my machine, I assume it will erase the photos? That's actually OK, but I just want to understand what's going to happen.

Hope I have described the scenarios clearly. Thanks for any help...

1) Yes, manual syncing will work. To use iTMS purchased songs, he'll need both computers authorized.

2) If you use an iPod camera connector, you can hook up the iPod to the camera directly.

If not, same thing. You'll need to manually sync to not have everything wiped out when you plug into the new computer, then re-sync back on yours.

This is a computer-generated message and needs no signature.
