Ok, i have an external 250 GB HD and its cheap and is starting to cut off and its slow.

I am looking into going with an internal drive for my Mac Pro.

I want to do 250-300 GB and i was just curious to what i should look for in buying one and also good places online to buy them.

Any input from you guys from past experience from different websites and different brands of HD's.

Thanks a lot

Why go so small when 500GB drives are almost under $100?

I got this Newegg.com - Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD7500AAKS 750GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM

Works great and very fast. Could also go for a 500 gb 7200.10 or spinpoint.

For Seagate drives (the only brand I'll recommend), 320 and 400GB drives are about 25 cents a gig, while 500s are 24 cents a gig. Hop over on Newegg and buy the size that fits your budget.

You can probably find a site with marginally lower prices than Newegg on one of the comparison shopping sites. But Newegg has been great for me: cheap shipping [often free], timely shipping, great customer service for returns, etc.
