Guys,

I'm alittle confused with bluetooth.. Hm, if I get a G5 iMac without bluetooth module in it, is it possible for me to add one later on my own or what?? I am just confused here.. anyone willing to help me out?

Cause i think I'd love to add bluetooth later in the future if money permits.

Thanks

The internal bluetooth module is BTO only. That is, either you get it when you buy the computer, or you don't.

You can however always add a BT dongle ( like the D-Link ) without problems. I bought a cheap PC dongle that's as small as the smallest USB memory sticks ( from MSI ) and it works fine with everything BT except my BT headset ( which doesn't work well anyways.. )

So, yes, you have options open, just not the same options in each case

TO get a very detailed veiw of the new G5 iMac go here
http://www.apple.com/pr/photos/imacf...agreement.html

you will notice the bluetooth module under and to the left of the airport card. The kind of bluetooth adapter apple uses is similar to ones produced here. There not soldered in, but they are pinned and very difficult to remove which is why apple wont allow it to be a optional item.

http://www.c-com.com.tw/c-com-products-btm-103b.htm or this one

You can get them for repair only, if you are a tech.

side note of why I wont get it builtin, the OS X drivers only work with one adapter, and if a better one comes out, say one with more range you wont be able to use it if you have a internal one.
