Hi fellow Mac'ers.
Just wondered: Are the GB loops for 2.0 the same set as 1.0?
Thanks,

Good question. I'd like to know that, too.
I'd be upgrading mostly for Garageband.

Anyone know where the software instruments are stored? I'd like to remove them since I'm strictly using loops at this point and would love to regain the multi-GBs of HD space.

Well, there does seem to be some difference, although I can't tell how far it goes. GB 2.0 does a conversion of GB 1.0 loops to 2.0 during installation apparently. Anyone know anything more?

Start in /Library/Application Support/GarageBand/Instrument Library, and poke around a few layers deeper.
Edit: in response to jmelrose...
