Hello. Just wanted to give folks a graceful and easy way to put any sound effects from imovie 2 into imovie 3. I know I downloaded quite few from the web (mostly Apple's site) and now there is no obvious place of where they go. So...

1. Control-click on iMovie, select "Show Package Contents."
2. open "Resources"
3. Inside Resouces is a "Sound Effects" folder. Open that.
4. Inside are folders which is how the effects will be grouped in the "iMovie Sound Effects" Audio tab when you run iMovie. I made 2 folders, 1 called "iMovie 2 Classics" and "Music". (Music is all the free clips Apple made available to download from their site for imovie 2 back int he day. Anyone seen those lalely?)
5. In a new window, go to the "iMovie" folder in your library and then copy the sound files into the folders as you wish. Close the windows, launch imovie. Done and done!

Don't forget!! If you trash iMovie later, you will lose all of them. Backup!!!

Enjoy.
