Hey there, Prufrock , I was there, too later in the afternoon & evening. Took tons of pictures hoping to post them here, but alas most came out terribly blurry or dark. My lady friend told me the wrong settings to use. Perhaps, on purpose, since she may have clued in on my surreptitiously trying frame in many of the beautiful Fashion Island babes on most of my interior and exterior shots of the new store. I'll bet you're at the new Mission Valley store this weekend.

I purchased the iPod and another FireWire drive while there. The other drive still sits in it's box because I can't put this beautiful iPod down. Love it!

Got mine on monday at the Apple Store in Glendale.

I used to have my iBook's 10GB drive crammed with mp3's so I could bring my music from home to work and back, but now I just keep my collection home on my 30GB iMac and use the iPod to transport my music.

I've been using the iPod in Semi-Auto mode(playlist sync, firewire drive mount), and it has worked great. My only problem is that my mp3's are all VBR encoded. The iPod sometimes truncates the songs when played.

Overall, this thing is tre' cool. I didn't like the headphones at first, but now I'm opting to use them over more bulky (yet slightly better sounding) phones. I discarded the headphone covers, however, because they kept falling off and seemed pretty unneccessary.

toodles...

Got mine a few days ago, and my productivity has taken a steep drop. It works great with my new TiBook 550, and the lack of EQ hasn't bothered me at all. Simply an amazing machine, and the price is worth it when I remember paying $500 for the Toshiba PC Card hard drive that's used inside the iPod. The included earbuds are too big and hurt my ears, so I use the Sony MDR-EX70 earbuds I picked up a couple of years ago. Great stuff...

Got mine a couple of days ago and I've been obsessively rearranging playlists ever since. Except when I took an hour to install MacOS X on it to try X with my PBook.

It plays music, it's a boot disk, and it makes julienned fries. Can't ask for more than that.

Bought mine on Monday at CompUSA. Absolutely love it!! Tried to talk myself out of spending the money, but it is worth it to not have to lug CD's around.

Judge,
is that a fact? Both the Apple Store Sweden and the Apple Store Soumi quote 20 days for delivery. And they have been for the past week or so. I thought that was a default meaning "no, we don't know when it will be shipped, stay tuned". Have you in fact received a delivery notice from the Finnish Apple Store? I would be interested to know, as I need to get my iPod within the next two weeks (why? a long story...).

Cheers.

I've had mine since Novemeber - it's what makes owning a mac even better. Hooked it up to the Hi-fi and and cranked it up - played all my favs and didn't have to change a damn disc once. Just sat back and listened.
if you can't be part of the solution don't be part of the problem!!!!

Just came off a 16-hour journey from Phnom Penh and the 'Pod absolutely rocks for long trips.

Breakout hi-score = 665 (but I bet someone out there got, like 2000+ already, right?)

So, Apple, how about Tetris on a firmware update

Got mine a couple weeks ago, but I don't have a picture at the moment of the one I own, just me holding one at the Apple Store in the Mall o' America.

I love my iPod so much but I am still waiting for the perfect case.

I picked up mine two weeks ago...Made the purchase decision without ever having heard/touched in person..Used these forums (as well as others) for input on getting an iPod, and let me say this, for those of you who are on the fence?

JUMP!

Amazing product. The Walkman revolution and beyond.

(Using Sony "Nude Ex" MDR-EX70SL with 'em...Great sound!)

Got my G4 iMac last wednesday. Ordered my ipod about 20 minutes ago. Also order 6-piece accessory case from xtrememac.com (be sure to use discount code MWSF02 through Feb 28...$7 off 3 piece, $10 off 6 piece package, $5 off 7 piece package).

Got mine today, on a half-off deal from the school computer store (Apple screwed up a bulk order so the store ended up with extra iPods, which they cleared out for $199 today ). It's beautiful...

I'm posting for a friend who, get this, doesn't even have a mac!
He's been leeching off of my MP3s. He'll probably get an iBook soon, though.
