Electronic Voting: The Catastrophe that Wasn't
Like claims the U.S. was responsible for 9/11 and Republicans were fixing gas prices, the media promoted the left-wing electronic vote-rigging conspiracy.
Now that the votes have been cast and counted, Republicans lost, and the silence of the national media has been deafening.
The idea was that somehow the company Diebold had programmed the machines to let Republicans win. The theory, perpetuated by left-wingers posting on Daily Kos and The Huffington Post and Bev Harris’ book, “Black Box Voting,” was embraced by all three broadcast networks, as well as CNN and MSNBC.
Funny when the left wins, everything is ok. I fully believe had the left lost, there would be mass accusations of fraud.
Notice, the right didn't do this very thing the left has been doing lately with any election they lose.
FUD sucks.

Didn't you get the memo? That's because this election was engineered to let the Democrats win by Karl Rove himself, not only to deflect criticism of the voting machines, but to try and share the blame got the Iraq mess once 2008 comes around!
I'm only kidding there, I don't really believe that, but some people actually do. But I will say that there were irregularities in this election, and the reason we don't hear much about them was that they were all pre-vote irregularities. If you look at the election threads, there were plenty of links to instances of voting machine problems, which in many cases either closed down polling stations or forced them to go to paper ballots. The post-election controversy disappear with these voting machines, because there's no way to do a recount. Part of the reason why the last senate contest in Virginia didn't drag on for weeks is that much of the state had these electronic voting machines, and a "recount" consisted of hitting "print" and noting that the number of votes recorded at that station didn't change. The Republican simply couldn't rely on those precints to increase his vote totals. You can say that's a good thing, but I have my doubts that every vote was faithfully recorded; in many cases, the vote simply disappeared.
My opinion of the nature of these machines has not changed at all due to the election: these machines are simply not built to even be as secure as ATM's, and there is lots of potential for abuse. The results of the election have not changed this at all. I've actually been weighing becoming an election volunteer in my area (I'm currently looking for a new job, once that happens I'll determine if I have the time to spare) only because I wantto make sure the vote gets counted accuarately, no matter what equipment gets used.

I still say go with a paper trail. I still don't trust them, results be damned.

I think it's glaringly apparent that the voting machines were hacked.
How else do you explain Nancy Pelosi with a gavel in her hand?
