Last week they were predicting 5-8" for us today, now it's down to an inch. Boo.

Looking at the radar, something big is inbound, and the NWS is in full panic mode, but the forecast algorithm for my closest WeatherBug station predicts we're not going to break 10% precipitation all night.
Could be a non-starter.
My ex (now with car and job... at U of C no less) is freaked out about driving home in it.

Subzero cold today. Not sure how much we'll get Saturday, but then it is going to rain and be 50º on Sunday.

Just west of DC we've had really cold (for us) temps. 14 last night. 23 yesterday with a 30 MPH wind. Tonight through early Sat we get sleet and ice, changing to rain and warming up to the mid 50's and raining and mid 60's on Sunday.. Back to low 40's during the week. We are scheduled to get another 'arctic blast' late next week. Roller coaster weather.

It juuuust started.
The revised WeatherBug forecast has it snowing for about two hours, maxing at 60% precipitation.

We got two inches earlier in the week and then a couple of days of negative double-digit windchills. Rain and in the 40s tomorrow, then the bottom drops out and we go down into the 20s Sunday. It's crazy.

We're supposed to get about 6", about thirty miles northwest of Detroit. Last weekend, our town got 11.3", which was the second highest amount in the metro Detroit area. I don't actually mind, as I'm now retired, and I like to use my new Troy Built 28" snow blower, with multiple forward reverse and forward gears and heated handgrips.

We just got a dusting, but more is on the way. At least it's 22° and not 4° like on Wednesday.
I can handle 4, but that's for February, not mid-December.
Y'all got any more of that global warming?

got a couple inches in NYC on Saturday. went to central park, saw a bunch of cold animals looking for food (hawk, doves, woodpeckers, ducks, geese, the usual pigeons, sparrows, rats and squirrels)
The park was so peaceful and quiet in this white covering of fluff, & the fog kept the buildings hidden, so it looked like a field in the country. An hour later it all started to melt, the streets became a sloppy mess of glop.

It's the same here in Muncietucky. 62º as I'm typing this. Good chance of friggin' thundershowers today.
We have the windows open today, to get a breeze through the house. On Dec. 26.
Of course, the bottom drops out of all this tomorrow, and we're back in the 30's.

I know 20° isn't that big of a spread for a day, but for whatever reason 38° and 17° sounds sucky.

It snowed this morning in nyc, woke up to a nice coating on the abandoned Christmas trees on the street.
By 10 or so most was melted already and small puddles of grey were on every street corner, as is tradition.

Looking downright spring-y here. Rain is slowly filling empty reservoirs, so maybe the drought won't be waiting for us in the spring.
