I need help as fast as I can get it. I need to figure out how to connect my new BW G3 to my trusty HP 5MP printer. Keyspan USB to serial does not work. Has someone figured it out? The mail order places and Apple tech line have not been much help.

Farallon makes some LocalTalk to Ethernet connectors. Check their web site.

I sent email to [email protected]. They answered my question about an adapter for my HP 4 ML by telling me it would be available in April and probably cost $100. Suggest you try them

My printers all now work. The Epson connects through the Keyspan USB and the HP 5MP goes through Farallon's iPrint ethernet to localtalk. All's well that ends (prints) well.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought the
B/W G3's had an IRDA (infrared) "port". If so, one should be able to communicate to a LaserJet 5/6 MP printer using the IRDA. It may require lining the two of them up for an unobstructed "line of sight".
