I hope it's ok to post it in OS forum cause I couldn't find it fit anywhere.

So I'm getting Tiger in a few days and wanna do a clean installed. I was thinking about getting a Firewire HD but someone mentioned that I can transfer my OS files to iPod.

How does it work?

Thanks!

Plug your iPod into your Mac, in iTunes go to its preferences. Click the 'iTunes' button at the top, and then select the 'Enable disk use' checkbox.

Now your iPod will also mount as a hard drive in the Finder whenever you plug it in. You can use any space not being used for music, to copy and files to.

I can't help but recommend my own iPodBackup. It does exactly what you're looking to do, which is backup your home folder to your iPod.
