Whatever happened to Disco? No updates in ages, nothing new on their blog. Did they flame out and die just like the real Disco fad?

Who could've guessed that an app whose main selling points were 1) OpenGL smoke while it calls standard system functions, and 2) costing $5, might not be something the developers intend to put a lot of work into?

I guess they're living up to the "Delicious Generation" moniker.
Despite the smoke, I did find the latest version somewhat useful, if buggy in a few areas (namely disk spanning). Kind of funny though, with all their chest-beating (look at the latest blog entry), they've essentially pulled the plug without so much as a comment.

They must've found another sample code project at developers.apple.com that only needs a slick UI wrapper to sell like hotcakes at maczot.

Sadly, I have to agree with everyone.
I've never been happy with their decision about going so against the HIG. Their buttons and window I can ignore, but the non-standard close, min, max buttons kills me.
Charging $30 for an app like this, getting to 1.0.2 and essentially vanishing is very bad move.

This whole 'delicious generation' doesn't seem to be fighting the opposition. My Dream App apps are nowhere to be seen and yet there has been talk on their site about version 2?

ChaChing hit version 1 and then all blog posts stopped. It seems like that was because of personal reasons with the developer's marriage. Hopefully that app is still going to be worked on.

It almost seems like they get an idea, pretty it up, generate tonnes of hype and presales, develop for a while, move onto the next idea, wrinse, repeat.

This guy seems to have a good business buying up the rights to these orphaned apps. Seems like good a graveyard as any...
