The iPad Pro line of Apple tablets now has a dock that takes advantage of the range's Smart Connector, courtesy of Logitech. The Logi Base is a stand for both the 12.9-inch and 9.7-inch versions of the iPad Pro, one that takes advantage of the Smart Connector's power transfer capabilities by using it to charge the iPad Pro's battery, giving users an alternative to the usual method of attaching a cable to the iPad Pro's Lightning connector.
By using the Smart Connector, the
Logi Base removes the fuss from plugging in the cable, though users need to remove the magnetic Smart Cover or Smart Keyboard from their device before placing it on the dock. Though it only has one possible angle the iPad Pro can be placed at, in landscape orientation, it is created from high-grade aluminum with a plastic lip and a rubber base, allowing it to firmly hold the iPad in place and stay where it's put.
On sale today from both Apple and Logitech itself, the
Logi Base is priced at $100.
