Hi there im new to the forum

i've recently decided to purchase a macbook however with the release of lepoard in october do you think it would be a wise decision to wait until then ?

Also do you think that apple will bring out a new range of macbooks when the release the new os?

Do you need it now? There's always a case for waiting, and, for sure, in the Fall there will be new goodies, but, by then, it will only be four months till another revision comes out, with newer, faster, cheaper. At some point you have to bite the bullet and buy, realising that there will always be something nicer round the corner. The current books are good. There will certainly be updates, probably not a new range.

If you like updated stuff, wait the extra few months, else if you don't care about updates and want a laptop now buy.

Intel's new laptop platform, Centrino Pro (code name Santa Rosa), is expected to be released on May 8th. It increases FSB speed, adds flash memory acceleration, improves graphics performance (GMA 3000/X3000), adds a few WWAN options (WiMAX, 3G data), and will be accompanied by a couple faster CPUs (and likely price drops on the existing chips). I expect that Apple will implement it immediately on the MacBook Pro and shortly afterward on the MacBook.

The waiting game ends the day the product is updated and lasts for 2-3 months after that.
